Dr. Yigit S. Guner is a board-certified pediatric surgeon, specializing in general and thoracic surgeries for infants, children, and teens. He is also well-versed in the management of various clinical conditions such as hernias, hydrocele, circumcision, and tumors. His surgical skills include appendectomy, gastric polyps removal, resection of gallbladder, stomach resection, and complex treatment of pancreatitis among others. Dr. Yigit S. Guner serves as the Assistant Professor of Surgery at UC Irvine, Department of Surgery. He has an impressive academic and research background, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. His educational journey includes an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona, where he graduated magna cum laude with honors. He attended Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University, followed by a General Surgery Residency at UC Davis Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Guner further specialized through a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at USC-CHLA Department of Pediatric Surgery.
