Biography:

Prof. Dr. Erdem Akbal was born in 1978 in Kırıkkale. In 2015, he received training for advanced endoscopic procedures, particularly Endoscopic Ultrasonography, at the John Hopkins Hospital Advanced Endoscopy unit. In 2017, he received training at the Amsterdam Academic Medical Center in endoscopic submucosal dissection, endoscopic mucosal resection, diffuse esophageal spasm, endoscopic full thickness resection, and High-resolution manometry and Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) used in the diagnosis of esophageal diseases such as achalasia. He began practicing these techniques. In 2018, he was at Jichi University for ESD and Balloon Enteroscopy.
