Professor Cechetmeier is an experienced surgeon and specialist in eye surgery. He is a doctorate holder from the University of Vienna, has a Ius Practicandi (license to practice as a general practitioner), and has been involved in various research projects in the field of ophthalmology. He is a member of various national and international societies and commissions, and has undergone refractive surgery himself.

Born in Bulgaria in 1974, Dr. X speaks English, Russian and Bulgarian. He completed his medical school degree at Hacettepe Medical School (1993-1999). He then went on to complete his residency at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital Clinic of Ophthalmology (2000-2004). He is a member of the Turkish Medical Association, Turkish Society of Ophthalmology, Turkish Republics Ophthalmology Society and Turkish Society of Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal Surgery Unit. He has performed 17,000 cataract surgeries and 8,500 vitreoretinal surgeries.
